The head of service is responsible for coordinating the providers and working in partnership with them to fill packages of care and manage capacity and support with operational difficulties. They are also responsible for leading the development of the service, focusing on outcomes-based and person-centered care.

The support officer is responsible for the flow of information (KPIs, etc) from Devon Cares providers to commissioners and monitoring quality aspects of service provision, including leading on complaint investigations and co-ordinating quality assurance visits to providers’ registered premises.

The brokerage team is crucial in ensuring our capacity meets the demand across zones 1, 2 and 3. Our intelligent brokerage model ensures providers take a fair share of the more urban and rural packages.

The finance apprentice supports the Trust’s finance department in managing the invoicing and payment process, a task that includes collating variations in care provided against intended care plans to enable prompt payment to Devon Cares providers.

Overall Northern Devon Healthcare Trust oversees the brokerage and monitoring, compliance, governance and quality, quality improvements, invoicing and payment, performance management and strategic development functions, requiring input from other departments in addition to the Devon Cares team.
